About Us

Oakmont Minerals, Inc. is a private consulting firm engaged in "upstream" oil & gas exploration, consulting, research, instruction and management. Areas of expertise include Upper and Lower Gulf Coast of Louisiana and Texas, Gulf of Mexico, East Texas, Mississippi Salt Basin and South Alabama.

The firm provides expert subsurface mapping services for reserve audits, field studies and other mapping/research projects. Additional services include prospect generation, seismic interpretation, research, State of Louisiana O&G Hearing representation, unitization and expert reports. Oakmont Minerals, Inc. was incorporated in 2004 by Principal and President, Donald P. Muth.

Donald P. Muth is an AAPG certified petroleum geologist with over 28 years of oil and gas exploration, development and consulting experience. He is a member of the Dallas Geological Society, New Orleans Geological Society and Dallas Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists (SIPES). Donald has a BS degree in Geology from Auburn University ('79) and a Masters in Business degree from the University of New Orleans ('89).
